8 waterfalls you must see in Adjara

  • Chirukhi waterfall - located in Adjara, Shuakhevi municipality, village Chirukhi. A large part of the road leading to the waterfall is not paved, so an interesting road awaits you before you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfall.
  • Dzentsmani waterfall - located in the village of Dzentsmani, Keda Municipality, Adjara. It is 100 meters from the driveway to the waterfall, but there is a rather steep path with railings. Away from the waterfall, you must see the old wooden mosque of the village, which according to the locals is more than 150 years old.
  • Merisi waterfall - located in Adjara, Keda municipality, village Merisi. It is 13 kilometers away from Keda. The walking distance from the end of the road to the waterfall is 100 meters. There is always a crowd here, children swim in the fountain of the waterfall, there are wooden huts where you can have a picnic.
  • Medzibna waterfall - located in Adjara, Keda municipality, village Medzibna, 10 kilometers from Keda. The walking distance from the end of the road to the waterfall is 500 meters. Flowing from the huge mountains, the strength of the waterfall is such that great care is required when swimming in the natural pool of the waterfall.

  • Makhuntseti waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls in Georgia. It is located in Adjara, Keda municipality, village Makhuntseti, at an altitude of 335 meters above sea level, on the right side of the Acharistskali river. A 50-meter- high waterfall flows on a small inflow, which creates a rather large whirlpool. The waterfall can be reached by car as it is located near the main road. A path leads to the waterfall, on which anyone can move. At the end of the trail, there is a picnic area where you can spend pleasant time with your family.
  • Bako waterfalls - located in Adjara, Khulo municipality, near Bakibako village. In the beautiful river valley hidden in greenery, there are two waterfalls: Bako Big Waterfall and Bako Small Waterfall, which create a unique sight.
  • Twin waterfall - located in Adjara, Khelvachauri municipality, village Adjarisagmarti, Machakhela National Park, 735 meters above sea level. According to the locals, there are about 15 other waterfalls on the Chamistskali river, but it is impossible to get there because of the absence of road. It is a different and beautiful environment surrounded by mixed, deciduous and coniferous forests.
  • Mirveti waterfall - located in the village of Mirveti, in the autonomous republic of Adjara, in the municipality of Khelvachauri, in the community of Adjaristskali, on the left side of the Chorokhi river, at an altitude of 60 m above sea level. It is 19 kilometers away from the city of Batumi.
